Guinea pig losing fur and messy bottom
Still no biosponge fed ex lost it so the company offered to ship a new one overnight express.
We switched to TMS last night.
Still diarrhea but it’s slowed down in frequency. Keeping her hydrated on poop soup and critical care.
Cornell said to try her on the TMS for 2 days and if she is not better then they will see her.

Tummy massage can be very helpful in moving those gas bubbles out. Remind me, are you still using a probiotic? I'd very much push that as well.
I'll be very interested to hear if the Bio-Sponge helps. I have used it a few times with ours, but it has been years ago and I honestly can't remember how effective it was.

Tonight during feeding Butterscotch still seemed so lethargic. I can understand, I would feel terrible if my tummy hurt all the time too but she seemed to be breathing slower than normal. I am now wondering if the leaking eyes and nose are all a part of heart failure. It could even be the reason for the diarrhea as I saw that one pig on this forum had diarrhea as a symptom of heart failure.
I called the emergency line at Cornell and they think it’s best to have her seen in the morning when they are open because she needs to be seen but may not be a true emergency right now. They also can’t do most diagnostics or medication at the correct dose on off hours.
They also said if she had fluid in her lungs she would normally breath faster, not slower to get enough oxygen but who knows. Something is wrong with my girl and at this point I have done everything I can at home based on their recommendations and I just need to get her in to have them check her over.

I am at emergency services at Cornell with Butterscotch.
This evening at medication and critical care time she seemed unable to breathe.
Upon initial examination she appeared to have bluish mucus membranes.
They are planning to admit her for the evening.
I am so upset. I have been calling and emailing Cornell daily telling them there were problems and listing all her symptoms and they kept saying to treat her at home and now here we are. She can’t breathe and no one knows why and the diagnostic machines and main exotic specialists are not in until morning.
Poor baby. Please keep her on your thoughts and prayer and send healing vibes her way. I hope they can determine what is wrong and get her started on treatment right away.

I'm so sorry that she has so many things going on. I reading back through your entire thread yesterday and it is all very puzzling. This may be way off the mark, but you had mentioned earlier that she had been fairly obese. Has she ever been tested for Diabetes? I do know that Diabetes can cause eye problems (usually with sight, but maybe could be related), and there is also a condition called "diabetic enteropathy" which is nerve damage to the intestinal tract from untreated Diabetes. It can present with diarrhea. Recurring infections are also an issue with Diabetics.
Again, could be grasping at straws at this point, but the thought crossed my mind after reading so many seemingly unrelated things with Butterscotch.
