I find that "calculate dose" page very handy! I also explain how to do it manually.

Thank you so much for your kind words Daisymay(i really like reading about your pigs and wish them too well and i read you struggled with vets and i can relate, for sure)..Ringo was our dog(border collie) he was with us for almost sixteen years and in our hearts forever -he was fighter, yes..unlimited one..and thank you Sef, too!!

And thanks, Lynx, for this calculation!! I am so bad at it..too bad.. with this calculations..I did check the page but i was still little lost now i know.
So we can get this one human pill.. if not else..and disolve it. If we cant get else. Iread its the same for animals for this antibiotic.

We ll try to sort it out and we will let you know..out of all things we ve done.. i think we should manage this.. I am little (a lot, actually)shaken with whole situation so..its difficult..but you helped me, greatly again..we ll repeat test first..than try to get a hold of vet next week..

I’m so sorry to hear about Ringo. He had a good life with you and was so fortunate to be cared for and loved. Take care of yourself and Irie.

Thank you very much!!its been awful year and awful summer..hope not for you, but for us it was the worst year, ever..2020..

We repeated an urine test this morning with Irie it was the same.. little bit higher level of leucocytes.
He is not squeequing when urinating..his urine smell normal i would say. And he is drinking normal.

We ordered a new tests and we ll try to get Bactrim that we have it here..if things got worse we still can find some vet to check it out.
We ll try to collect urine sample on our own and bring it in dog clinic for analysis but its hard to get that much that is enough for proper analisys at vets not just this with urine stick-we do that on our own at home. If we would do that that would be brilliant cause we would get clear results i think.

Cranberry juice is useless or not?

If it's unsweetened cranberry juice, it can sometimes help soothe the bladder. I have used it myself with UTIs.

Once there is a UTI, it will not cure it. It is hoped to prevent a percentage of infections but your mileage may vary.

Thank you it worked!!!

We got AB white tablet of Sulfametoksazol and trimetoprim (Bactrim) and we got Reglan so..
We will get urine tests tomorrow we already got a msg that postman will bring it, so we do few more tests and if it will be positive he ll get antibiotic and benebac and hopefully we dont have to see vet for any check up..

We worked hard as always, but thats the only way Ringo tought us..full force, craziness and positivism and lets go..thank you all..we ll update first with test results and than with an update if we ll have to cure this.

It looks like there are lots of guidelines to follow to get an accurate test. I hope it can tell you what you need to know.

Irie was negative on all the urine tests so he doesnt need AB. We have it at home anyway..if we ll ever need it..
We re very happy:) and it seems our long-distance vet, who operated him so great was right..alright..just that we sort it out..:)

Hy!

Little update on us...

I have been strugglin with a lot of issues cause its been awful dealing with life without Ringo, without my best friend..I know in a way he ll always be in our hearts, minds, souls and rocknroll..but you know, that he is not psyhically present its hard enough..i ve had back pain and severe legs pain and shortness of breathe and feeling like i ll fall down at any moment during walking..i went to the doctor, but blood results were perfect, she said i am underweight, not having enough iron..the rest she thinks its due to stress and anxiety..i ve never felt like that and i am sort of 30 so its been awful:(.

But i ll leave it at that..we wanted ask you some questions cause Irie is turning 5 on 31.10
Can guinea pig eat prosomillet seed?(they had it in some sort of wooden roll toy).
What about orchid grass okay, is as good as timothy hay?
IRie have grass and garden and everything cause we live in the house so i dont know what new to get him:)

And we have a question on anal sack cleaning..
We check everyday if he s got some piece of hay stuck anywhere..and most of the time he doesnt..however i watched video on cleaning someone posted here..but Iries precious vets just sort of squeezed anal sack or somethng and white smelly stuff came out(i dont know what its called, i forgot).
However, since he just squeezed it it didnt bother him at all..it was quick and simple, like more than cleaning with stickfor cleaning ears like on the video..but I cant do that cause I dont know how to squeezed it..I cant just try so it wont hurt him.
Do I need to take him to vet for cleaning..or no, if its okay on the outside? And are you suppose to clean this how many times once per week, month, half of the year-if all is clean since he is becoming older boar..?
I noticed its little bit more inflated and big on the right side than on the left(anal sack)...but for now it doesnt look like something is wrong.
He doesnt seem old cause he is still so active and wild:)---

wishing all the best..and if anyone got time for answering stuff we will be grateful..

Never had boys just girls. Wish you luck and sorry about Ringo. Sending hugs! And feel better soon. I am way over weight, you can have some of mine if you like!

Maybe ask the vet to show you how? I'm sure they won't mind!
