Why is her footpad a different colour?
Have successfully gotten Montgomery through her toe
amputation (Cancer Looming previous post) and she appears
to be healing well. Prior to the surgery we noticed that
the footpad on the same foot was a much darker red colour
than her other one, which is bright pink. They were both
bright pink at one time. We thought maybe the cancer had
spread so they did a biop. of the footpad at the same time as surgery.
The biop. came back showing nothing - no infection, no cancer. Our
vet (who specializes in pocket pets) has no idea why this
discolouration has happened. He does not think it´s bumble
foot or a circulation problem. So the footpad is essentially
a dark purple red colour extending all the way along. Anyone
have any ideas what this could be. It´s been basically left
as an "I don´t know" and I am not exactly happy to leave it.
She´s been favouring the foot but that being put down to the
surgery and amputation. Skin on footpad also seems dry.
Thanks (again)
