Does lice cause the same skin sensitivity that mites does?

I ask because my son´s old teacher borrowed my old cage. She returned it recently, and I saw what looked like it could be a lice in the bottom. Her pig is very, very social, but doesn´t like to be touched. Seems almost to hurt.

I wanted to have more info when I approached her with it.

Yes, I believe so. Pigs can scratch from lice which says they are in discomfort.

Clearly I lost my mind there for a few minutes. DO lice cause the same skin sensitivity that mites DO...or...Does HAVING lice cause the same skin sensitivity that HAVING mites does.

Please...no one tell my high school English teacher. She was a tough old bird, and would very likely still be able to kick my arse!

I think mites are worse. If they have lice they could have mites too. If she´s never had them treated for parasites it would be a good idea.
