Ivermectin Dosage Sanity Check
I am going to be starting our 3 girls on topical Ivermectin to see if it reduces their scratching and gnawing and was hoping someone could sanity check the dosages.
I got it from Amazon here
It says it is a 1% solution
Our 3 girls weights last week were
Suzi - 920g
Nala - 1128g
Chunkita - 1136g
So by calculation their dosages should be
Suzi - 0.046ml
Nala - 0.056ml
Chunkita - 0.0567ml
I checked on the dosage calculator as well but want to be 100% certain I got it right
The syringes we have our these ones so I am guessing getting to more than 3 decimal places may be tricky, so round up or down?
Any other tips or warnings? Should I use gloves?
I read the ivermectin and Topical treatment pages here but again just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything important.
Thank in advance for your help.

- I dissent.
Those amounts look right to me, based on the dosing chart here:
https://www.guinealynx.info/topical_ivermectin.html
You are correct that it will be very small amounts.

The 1% solution is 10mg/ml. Topical, I generally use 0.5mg/kg Not rechecking your numbers but figure you did it right. I have a very hand page here where you can just plug in the numbers.

They had their second dose on Sunday and all seems to be well but just wanted to double check whether they should have 3 doses or 4 in total?
I had to recalculate the doses as they all put on weight this weekend. Chunkita is now up to 1206g, Nala is 1186g and Suzi is 975g (so hopefully will be over a kilo in a week or two (touch wood), which is a relief as I desperately needed so good news while we wait for more news on the two sick puppies in Thailand. They are still hanging in there but they dont seem to be getting any better.

OK will probably see how they go after next weekends dose.
I wasn't sure they needed it, there wasn't any worrying hair loss (Although the bald spots behind Suzi's ears seemed to be getting bigger) but they did seem to scratch and gnaw a bit and Chunkita was starting to get a noticeable V on her back where she kept chewing on it.
They are still scratching a bit but seem to be a little better about letting us pet them now, which is promising.

3rd Dose completed and all seems well. The V shape on Chunkita's back seems to be fading as well.
All 3 appear to be doing OK and putting on weight. Suzi is now over 1,000g and Nala now weights the same as Chunkita, in fact a little bit more.
Will probably do one more dose though just to make sure. I have been using the dose calculator on this site each time. It is a big help so thanks for that handy tool.

I figured it was better to resurrect this topic than create a new one.
I suspect I am going to have to treat them again. They seems to be more squeaky than usual whenever they get close to each other and Chunky sometimes gets herself i a mode where she keeps swinging her head back and forth as if she is going to gnaw on her back on one side but changes her mind and switches to teh other side but then changes her mind again and switches to the other side again and keeps doing this for 10-20 seconds.
Although they got a clean bill of health from teh vet recently she was looking for mites.
Is there anything else that could be causing these issue or is a fresh treatment of ivermectin the best course?
Additionally I was speaking to someone who runs a Guinea Pig shelter in the UK and they had said that I should be treating them every month with Ivermectin as a preventative measure. Is this correct an d if so woudl the dosage be the same?
