Sexing GPs
Could I get some help figuring out girls from boys here?
We picked up two females who were suspiciously plump and ended up with a couple litters - they are 2 and 3wks old. I've separated the ones that are obviously boys but these I'm having a hard time with.
Thank you so much!!

#3 is really hard to say, but looks kind of boar-ish. The others look like girls to me. Hopefully you'll get more feedback from better sexers.

Have you looked at http://www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm?
The acid test of a boar is being able to extrude the penis. Failing that, if you rub your finger crosswise across the abdomen right at the genitalia, you should be able to feel a penis bone if there's one there.

With the pictures you posted, I am inclined to agree with PooksiedAnimals' assessment.

1 and 2 look definitely female to me. I am pretty sure that 3 is male, 4 not sure but I'm now leaning female. Compare with the Cavy Spirit sexing pages pictures of the 12 hour old piggies.

Thank you!
I've spent so much time looking at and photographing pig butts...LOL
I'll try again in the morning, the concept of having more litters is making me panic but we don't have enough cages to separate them individually until it's sorted out!
I asked our vet but she said she's not the best at sexing them because she doesn't get much practice :-/

You can try sending us another set of photos. Sometimes a second shot helps.

- I dissent.
That might be a good idea, if you can get better angles on a couple of them.
Ditto bpatters' comment about feeling for a somewhat hard, slightly raised area above the penis and trying to extrude (pop out, for lack of a more delicate way to put it) the penis itself. By very gently pushing in and pulling upwards (up towards the guinea pig's tummy) along that ridge above the penis, you can usually get the penis to make an appearance if it's in fact a male.
