Hi everyone! I'm so happy I found this place!

My name is Jenny and so far I have one guinea pig named Spud. He's a boy and he's one years old.

I got my dear Spud from a friend who couldn't keep him.

I had to bring him to the vet yesterday because he has a URI. :(
He's currently being treated with antibiotics :)

He eats Oxbow pellets, hay, and veggies :) Such as red bell peppers, romaine lettuce and dandelion leaves.

He has a Midwest size cage with handmade fleece liners as bedding. 8 sq feet

Does this sound good?
I've done lots of research on guinea pigs and once he's better I plan on finding him a buddy.

Be sure to post a picture of Spud when you have a chance!

And since he has a URI, you might want to check out www.guinealynx.info/uri.html too.

I hope he recovers well! Weighing daily is a good idea right now to make sure he is eating enough. I am glad you have seen a vet.

What antibiotic was prescribed? Hopefully it was a safe one and you went to a vet who sees many guinea pigs.

Hi there, I can't seem to figure out how to post pictures :(

He is taking half a Baytril pill mixed with unsweetened natural applesauce. Twice a day.

He's doing great so far. Still eating, drinking and pooping regularly.
