A 2x4 isn't large enough for two boars. I think you'll have better luck if you enlarge the cage to at least a 2x6 or 3x4.

I know it's not ideal, but I've had several other male pairs that did great in a 2x3. Like I said, I've been spoiled in the past with a lack of boar dramas!

Bigger is always better, but I will say that almost all of my successful male pairings have lived in a 2x4 C&C. Then again, I've had a couple of pairings where it wouldn't have mattered if they took over the entire spare bedroom, it still wouldn't have been enough space.

It sounds like you're doing everything right. These may be two guys that will never "bond" but may eventually learn to tolerate each other. I've had plenty of those, too.

I have two that have never shown signs of being buddy-buddy. They have been together for more than a year and will occasionally get into it, running and squealing around their enclosure. They are in a 32 square foot setup.
