Boars fighting and humping
Hi I wonder if anyone can give me some advice 😢
I had to boars and after weeks of trying to settle them and getting them to bond they just wouldn’t get on and were drawing blood so when I called the pets at home they said to take them back to the shop which I was devastated as I’d grown attached but didn’t have the experience to deal with it myself.
I now have two more boars I’ve had them a week and have been slowly getting to know them and letting them settle, the bigger one (Blaster) has always rumble strutted but not been aggressive with it but now the little one Darwin is chasing Blaster everywhere and won’t stop humping him and his face do I just leave them to it or separate them. Housing is important. Here is a link to proper size cage https://www.guinealynx.info/housing.html
Make sure they each have one of everything, water bottle, food dish, hiding spots (but they should be open somewhat) toys etc.
Don't separate until there is no other option. Check cage size, very important.

- And got the T-shirt
Figure some way to give them more space until you get the C&C cage, or you're going to have a serious injury. I hope you got a big C&C cage -- boars need a lot of space, and crowding is a major reason for aggression. Also, if you've got young pigs, they're gonna go through puberty, and they WILL hump and quarrel. You may have to separate them until they're through adolscence.

Ditto what you have already been told. With guinea pigs, and males especially, there are no guarantees that they will get along. Every guinea pig is an individual, and as is the same with people, some will get along and some won't. You can improve the odds by offering the largest habitat possible.
Do read the Care Guide, with particular attention to these areas:

A lot good guinea pig care information to be found on this site, both in the forum and in the Care Guide:

You can also post other guinea pig-related questions on the Cavy Chat board (General Chat is more for non-piggie posts).

Pet Shops care nothing about the animals they sell, although up there in corporate they fall all over themselves to say how they do care - they don't.
Try not to buy GPs at pet stores, they support really horrific breeding mills and also chances are you high you will end up with a sick GP
I have seen some floor workers that care very much for the animals and try real hard to make their lives ok. Good people but it doesn't take away the horror show of where the poor animals come from.
Typically there are loads and loads of GPs that need adoption if you look around a bit.
Good luck with your boars, they can be a challenge. If you read up and follow the good advice from the links here you increase your odds considerably.
