Is there some way to keep his feet from getting in the wet food? Maybe if they stay dry they'll clear up?

Oh no. :( I'm not even sure what to suggest for that. What wet food is he putting his feet into? -- his veggies?

I remember some kind of bandage Pinta used - "new skin"? It sounds like you need to consult a wound care specialist.

Maybe try a short coffee cup hanging from the side of his cage for the wet food. That’s what I use for pellets. It doesn’t get tipped over and the food stays clean. I hang it from the handle with a piece of wire so it’s at an angle. It’s an older short style coffee cup I found at a thrift store.

Unfortunately I live in a small town with very limited vet access. There are no wound care specialists here. The vet who knows most about pigs isn’t back for another few weeks. I’ll try to find info on “new skin”, in the mean time I’m bandaging all 4 feet again as at least they stay clean.

The wet food is his pellets, ground and mixed with critical care and water. He can’t eat solid food until his teeth get trimmed so he gets several bowls of pellet slurry a day. He gets so excited he climbs into the plate. Because of his teeth issues he eats well off a plate but not from anything else.

Look at this face though

What a sweet face! The poor little guy, he’s so precious!

Amazon carries a few liquid bandage products made for animals. I use New Skin on my cracked fingertips in the winter and it works well. The only problem is that it stings so you’d have to get one of the sting-free products.

Can you feed him the wet mixture from a spoon? I had a couple of pigs that would happily eat a whole spoonful -- I could even feed them both at once, one from each hand.

Ah! That makes sense (plate of slurry) now. Wish I could find a photo, but there is a television show called "Dr. K's Exotics Vet ER" that I watch on occasion, and they had an interesting solution to a recurring bumblefoot problem in a rat. They wrapped the back feet (individually) in what I can only describe as a sort of light, flexible "cage" using some sort of pliable, breathable material that each foot was suspended into. This prevented any pressure being put on the foot, but also allowed air to circulate and helped both back feet to heal. I'll see if I can track down a photo of it, or maybe I can sketch it.

Yeah we love him to bits. He’s so sweet too, tolerates everything we do and loves snuggles.

K gonna search amazon for sting free new skin products. The foot cage thing sounds cool, as does the show, totally something my daughter and I would watch together. I
Going to see if I can find some episodes.

He can eat off a spoon but he’s a slow eater and he eats a LOT (2-3 full bowls a day). It would just take too much time. He’s underweight so I make sure he’s always got some available. I saw an elevated soap dish I’m going to go get and try and see if it will help.

Ugh his feet are just not getting better. I’ve bandaged his feet with corn pads hoping maybe they’ll help. Still waiting on my amazon order of that cream.

Good news is he’s put in a ton of weight cuz he eats non stop. He is no longer skeletal, just thin. I had to order more critical care as he’s already eaten two bags (and they were mixed half and and half with ground pellets)

Poor little guy. Glad to hear that he is getting the calories he needs. He's lucky to have you to help him get through this. Keep up the good work!
