Spencer's Abscess
Not this time. Which is odd, because it always worked to get him pooping when he had bloat. I had him on my bed with me last night and noticed he's eating ALL of his poop. I put his cage mate on the bed since they've been separated so he can heal and he ate his poop as well.
I woke up this morning to some poop! So I'm hoping his digestive system is getting back into gear. I'll still push the SARx to make sure he's getting extra fiber to help.

Okay. So his drain comes out wednesday. His fecal test is normal. And his vet just emailed me. Says:
SO far there is NO GROWTH on the Aerobic culture after 48hrs in the lab. The Anaerobic culture result is still pending

Fingers crossed. Did the vet shed any light on why they thought he still has decreased motility? Any discussion of Cisapride instead of, or in addition to, Reglan? It's my understanding that they sometimes work better together vs. just one or the other, depending on what part of the gut is slow.
EDIT: Per one veterinarian Sef has consulted with, Metoclopramide (Reglan) and Cisapride used together can cause potentially serious complications in some situations. Use only as directed and under the strict supervision of a knowledgeable exotics veterinarian.

No. The vet wasn't concerned about the issue and said he'll start going. He's a poooing machine today. Wonder if he slowed up some from having anesthesia twice within 7 days. Also the day of his surgery he didn't eat much...so I'm thinking that was a factor as well.
I still feel the lump the vet says is indurated tissue. How long will that take to go away? I'm paranoid mom and want to make sure it's not the abscess again. I'm assuming if it was the abscess it would be getting bigger?

I had to look that up:
"Medical Definition of induration. 1 : an increase in the fibrous elements in tissue commonly associated with inflammation and marked by loss of elasticity and pliability : sclerosis. 2 : a hardened mass or formation."
Induration | Definition of Induration by Merriam-Webster

I guess (unless it is examined surgically) only time will tell if this is what it is and it will otherwise heal.

Thank you! It's been there since his first surgery on 06/13 so im assuming that's what it is. I'm being paranoid mom lol. Just don't want him needing a third surgery...stressful for both of us. I'm just glad I have insurance on him to get reimbursed because both surgeries were not cheap lol. But I will pay any amount to have my baby feeling better.
