Ovarian Cysts???
I went to cut Baileys nails and noticed how large and crusty her nipples were (I don't know how to insert image or I would) ANDDDDD for about a month she has been super moody to the other cage-mate (but her moodiness seems to be lessening now). I am just putting 2 and 2 together, I think she has Ovarian Cysts, shes not spayed. I am a graduate student so I am all over the place, with living. So I am not near my "normal" vet. The closest vets to Burlington, Vermont are 3 hours away on the Lynx page!
So, SOS!!!!
And I have been reading that the options usually are:
1) do nothing
2) draining
3) hormone injections
4) operation to remove
What is the usual the case? I am just worried about making the wrong decision and surgery scares me because I feel like I've read so many bad cases of piggies not waking up.

I would suggest getting X-rays or an ultra-sound done. Our Jessie had an ultra sound as the vet felt cyst. We put her onto HRT and for her it worked a treat. She was 6 and we thought surgery was too much for her.
She got an injection, then 2 weeks later another, then nothing for 6 months, then back to the two injections 2 weeks apart. 2.5 years old I would have thought maybe a little young? Are there any other symptoms? Maybe she gets crabby when in season?
Just a thought. Keep us posted. You may wish to also weigh her weekly too as weight lost can mean piggy is sick.

It does sound like there is something hormonal going on.
Personally, I would like to see a vet I knew and felt comfortable with who was a good surgeon with lots of guinea pig experience and at a time I could spend time during recovery. There might be a good one in your area.
For a healthy guinea pig and an experienced surgeon who has done multiple successful spays on guinea pigs the odds are good there will be a positive outcome.
I did not get a spay right away for my guinea pig Snowflake after I determined it was likely she had ovarian cysts. If you noticed a great deal of swelling in the area of her ovaries, it might be more of an emergency. As daisymay points out, there are injections that can help but they must be repeated.

Hey guys,
I took in her and they did an ultrasound but didn't see anything. They said she looks a little swollen (don't quote me on swollen) but they decided to do a hormone shot. If she loses some mass (~10 grams) in a week she'll go in again in 2 weeks and get another injection. Thanks for the info Daisymay and Lynx!
Side note: She took the shot like a champ and didn't even squeal, that's one brave piggy.

Baileys medical thread updates:
Bailey has received a Lupron shot in March which only lasted 2 weeks then she had an implant (forgot name) which seems to be working.
However she recently lost her cage mate May 15th (RIP Bella).
But now one of her eyes is slightly more watery (for the past week)and I pulled her bottom eyelid down to see if something was going on and I found this small growth. It's very small but it is noticeable if you compare the two eyes AND since her eye has been watering.
Any ideas? My heart can't take more sick pigs.
This is an album, sorry for blurry pics she doesn't like the flash.
Her unaffected eye (more brown and white fur ) is in the album with her affected eye (more black fur) https://photos.app.goo.www.guinealynx.info/

It doesn't look as close to pea eye as its a small bump, not her entire under the eye. Her eye looks closet to the photo on this webpage (image toward the top on the right-hand side of the page) https://www.vetstream.com/treat/exotis/ ... -swellings
