When to stop digging?

It´s an assumption that many of you that own ´boy´ pigs clean out their bums as they can often get clogged with bedding etc. When do you stop digging? What made me wonder was I cleaned out a good amount of bedding, poo etc from his bum but it certainly isn´t ´sparklingly clean´

He was getting cheesed off (obviously) and I chose not to carry on, but do you?

Thoughts anyone?

Unless he´s impacted, I generally only check for "surface" debris. If he´s got bedding wedged in there, I´ll try and fetch it w/o hurting him, but it´s apples and oranges compared to an impaction.

When I dig around in my boys behinds, I use a q-Tip dipped in mineral oil - reduces the chafing factor. I also use this when cleaning out their ears (although I don´t use the same one!).

Oh, gee.... thanks Evangeline!!! Something new on my "radar!" Not only have I not experienced them, I didn´t even know about them. What should I look for? I should have known not to poke fun!! Oh God... no pun intended using the word "poke!"
