Location of piggie cage

Hello to all!

My sister recently moved with my nephew-pig, and it's a much smaller studio-type apartment. She currently has the set up pictured, but is concerned about having his cage near her microwave. She tried to Google the info, and came up with some pretty gross stuff, so I figured I'd ask the real experts ;-)

The pitch black floof is Bowie. Thank you for any & all input!

Edit: she just measured for me; from the edge of his cage to the side of the microwave is 8.5 inches (21.59cm)

I would suggest a distance of at least 1.5 meter, that's 5 feet. This is a great article about it: https://emwatch.com/microwave-oven-radi ... 20inches).

I wouldn't be comfortable having any pet cage that close to a microwave oven. Our guinea pigs are kept in the kitchen/dining area, but they're all the way across the room from the microwave.
