I have not tried this, I use a small scissors designed for cat claws. When I watch the video, they hold the dogs nail to the grinder for some time before the nail is trimmed. I don't know how that would work for guinea pigs, they move so fast and pull away. Mine barely holds still long enough for me to get a nail clipped.

I used to use a clipper too. Tricky to stabilize the foot since they hate having a foot/leg immobilized!

Same way with ours.

Slightly off-subject: the other day the next door neighbors' dog was in our yard running from her owners. They rounded her up & took her in. A couple of minutes later they were calling Dad to come in. Turns out it was nail-cutting time & Bonnie was not cooperating.

I still remember walking around and looking for the clipper while holding one of my guinea pigs. Before I could find it, she bit me!

That's when I discovered guinea pigs could read minds.

The secret is to keep the nail clipper close to the refrigerator so they think you're taking them to their favorite food!
